This facility is owned and operated by the City of New Haven. The University leases laboratory and learning space (Boat Bay) in the building. From the the City of New Haven's website: "Enjoy the panoramic views of the New Haven Harbor and Long Island Sound from the Boathouse at Canal Dock, New Haven's sole rowing and events facility located at the north end of Long Wharf Park. The Boathouse at Canal Dock is available for weddings, private parties, seminars, conferences, and luncheons. In addition, the Boathouse hosts rowing and other boating programs and waterfront educational opportunities via our non-profit partner, Canal Dock Boathouse Incorporated."
